National University International

National University International (NUI) was established in 2006 to provide premier online education opportunities to students around the globe. NUI’s initial offerings included English language and foreign language programs in Arabic, Chinese, and Farsi. Since this time, NUI has extended its mission to assist the National University System in its global expansion efforts. In this role NUI serves as a distribution channel through which system affiliates are able to take advantage of the international education markets through an approach aligned for international expansion and operations. NUI houses its own Admissions and Student Services departments to better serve its growing international community.

To meet the need for proficiency in English worldwide, NUI offers English language programs online, and provides on-site classes in California. The majority of students are enrolled in the University Preparation Program, an intensive program designed for high school graduates, university students, or professionals who plan to attend a U.S. college or university and/or want to improve their academic skills or advance in their career.

The English Communication Certificate program is designed for individuals who want to improve their English communication skills, particularly the ability to speak and understand everyday spoken American English. This program is offered with the addition of a Test for English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) workshop. The English Tutorial program will help students research and write a paper at a higher academic level. NUI’s Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Certificate program will provide hands-on practice to develop the knowledge and teaching skills necessary to teach English as a Second Language at any level. And the American Culture and Conversation program will combine various social and recreational activities to help students improve their English conversation skills while studying American culture and lifestyle.
